The Voluntary Centre Warsaw

Centrum Wolontariatu
The Volunteer Centre was started as a pilot project at the BORIS Foundation in September 1993.
The underlying goal of the project was, and continues to be, to promote public participation and develop models to further the process of satisfying human needs through volunteering. In order to provide structure, guidance and coordination, the Volunteer Centre established the associations for a professionally managed volunteer program. The program involves target recruiting, selection and training of volunteers, performance coordination, and evaluation. The Volunteers' Centre has consistently worked to abolish the negative stereotype of volunteering and community work in Poland. Presently, we have 4200 applications from volunteers and 350 organisations as well as 240 individuals willing to use volunteer assistance (statistics from Warsaw Volunteer Centre).
